TotalEnergies accelerates Kaminho first oil to Q4 2027 and lifts peak production guidance to 75,000 bopd
TotalEnergies confirmed it expects first oil from the Kaminho project offshore Angola in the fourth quarter of 2027, ahead of the first quarter 2028 timeline anticipated at the project's final investment decision, with peak production guidance revised upward from 70,000 to 75,000 barrels per day. Kaminho, in Block 20/11 targeting the Cameia and Golfinho pre-salt fields at 1,700 metres water depth, is the first deepwater development in Angola's Kwanza Basin and a critical component of the country's effort to arrest production decline. The Angolan regulator ANPG reported the FPSO reached 50% construction completion in April, and partners subsequently loaded the riser protection structure at the Petromar shipyard in Ambriz — an 80-metre, 300-tonne fabrication built inside Angola under the project's local content commitments. Schedule acceleration on a deepwater project of this scale is uncommon and materially improves the investment case for the Kwanza Basin's remaining pre-salt inventory.
