Renaissance adds Indorama as a further ANOH gas offtaker, deepening the domestic industrial demand base
Renaissance Africa Energy secured Indorama as an additional gas offtaker for the ANOH project, with the petrochemical group receiving volumes on both sides of the development. ANOH is one of the flagship projects of Nigeria's Decade of Gas strategy, structured to monetise non-associated gas for domestic industrial use rather than export — the model Nigerian policy has prioritised to address the paradox of a gas-rich state with chronic industrial energy shortfalls. Indorama operates fertiliser and petrochemical capacity for which gas is both feedstock and fuel, making it precisely the anchor offtaker class that gas-to-industry projects require to reach financial close. Renaissance, which acquired Shell's onshore Nigerian portfolio, is emerging as a central actor in the domestic gas value chain, and the accumulation of firm offtake agreements is the most reliable indicator that ANOH's commercial structure is holding.
